Walsh sparks undefeated Pearl River to win over Clarkstown North
     PEARL RIVER -- Pearl River found itself leading by two points against a pesky Clarkstown North after the first quarter.
     The Pirates were looking for a lift and they received one from sophomore guard Joe Walsh.
     Walsh came off the bench and scored nine of his 14 points in the quarter, sending Pearl River on its way to a 65-39 victory in a Rockland County league crossover game.
     Junior point guard Luke Houston scored eight of his game-high 21 points in the second quarter. Houston also led the team with eight boards. Joe Clinton also came off the bench and he scored 12 points.
     Pearl River outscored Clarkstown North, 22-9 in the second stanza, raising its lead to 38-23 at halftime. Walsh connected on two 3-pointers in the quarter. Pearl River assistant coach Chris Woolgar said that Walsh played great defensively in the second quarter.
