                PEARL RIVER BASKETBALL                                                                 

Pearl River High School is located at 275 East Central Avenue, Pearl River, NY in Rockland County in New York State. Pearl River High School is a member of the N.Y.S.P.H.S.A.A. "The New York State Public High School Athletic Association Inc. is a non-profit, voluntary, educational service organization composed of public, parochial, and private schools dedicated to providing equitable and safe competition for the students of its member schools." New York State is divided into nine sections excluding New York City and Long Island. Pearl River has been a member of section 1 since 1982 and was a member of section 9 prior to 1982.  The Pearl River Basketball team is currently in League III-C of Section 1.  Pearl River reached the section 1 class B tournament finals in 2004, losing to JFK High School.  The Pearl River Basketball team has won the League III-C Championship the previous two years of 2007 and 2008.  In 2008 the Pirates were semi-finalists of the section 1 class A tournament, losing to Port Chester High School, finishing 18-5 on the year. In 2009 the 5th seeded Pirates were semi-finalists of the section 1 class A tournament, losing to Peekskill High School, reaching the Westchester County Center for the 3rd time in 6 years. The Pirates ended the season with an overall record of 15-8 in 2009.
